Going through some of my older files and I came across this one. This one was taken a couple of years back during a summer in Michigan. It was my first go around at setting up perches for images. As you can see, I started off real plain!
I'm working on my sharpening right now. I used to save straight from photoshop to a local folder, but am now saving the web-sized image back into LR and then exporting that as a jpeg into the local folder. I think I may be losing a bit of sharpness, but I want to keep trying this method out a bit.
Nice pose and clean background, Miguel. This is actually a female House Sparrow. I like that you placed your setup perch at a diagonal, rather than horizontally. As for the sharpness, another round of USM wouldn't hurt, IMO.
Nice pose captured, Miguel. The upper mandible has some green cast. I also would darken the rump area a bit and tame the greed in the background a little.
Josh, you are absolutely right, this is a House Sparrow. Not sure why I labeled it a finch (although it could be because i was shooting a pair of House Finches yesterday).
Karl, it does seem apparent now that you mentioned it. I'll work on that green cast!
