Woke it up while walking through a field late one fall.
About 10 mins before this photo was taken there was a thin
layer of fog lingering over the field. Would've taken advantage
of that had I seen this dog earlier.
Hi Tim - I just love the setting! The DOF is spot-on and the OOF colors in the fg lead the veiw to the main subject which has great eye contact. My only nit is the coyote might do with a tad more sharpening. Great image. TFS

Hi Tim - I really like the setting and that just the head is showing. It certainly gives you the feeling of the coyote popping up. I think the large crop though is affecting the IQ and the sharpness.
This is an eye-catching image with the blonde coyote (I have never seen this color, it is beautiful) among the thick brush of the field. The bits of color in the foreground add a nice touch. Love the straight-on stare of the coyote.
Can't comment on IQ but live subject and its quite powerful in this environment. Colo palate is so eye catching. I wish you had placed the coyote somewhere more off center bc I think it would have made for an even stronger image.
Nice find, Tim. I agree with Rachel that the crop/IQ is not ideal.
What would make the coyote stand out more is to try and bring down "clarity" in your RAW conversion so the surrounding foliage loses some crispness, and then paint back the clarity on the coyote using a brush (easy in Lightroom).
