He tried to go down and drink but the ledge was to steep and then he tried to stand on his head. C&C welcome.

    Hi Ben

I think this picture is fantastic. Its beautiful, funny, cute and makes me want to go out there. I really like the comp and colors. I have one suggestion, I would like to blur the bg a bit. Made a very fast version, maybe to much. But what do you think?

Lovely light and a cute moment here, Ben.
    Where was this taken?
I actually quite like the almost square presentation here, and where you "cut off" mom...

Hi Ben - Very nice light and cute moment with good texture brought out on the eles.

It would be great if you would comment on other people's images. As you know, it's recommended that you comment on 5 other images each time you post an image. It helps foster a sense of community and let us all learn from each other.

    TFS,

Hi Ben - great moment you have captured here with the little guy. As mentioned the textures you have brought in the eles and the light is good. Love watching these guys

Thans for the comments. The back ground blur can work. Rachel, thanks for the reminder.. Morkel, it was close to Thakadu camp in Madikwe Game reserve.

Who says elephants have long trunks... Certainly not this little fellow. Very interesting photo - cute, dramatic, and tells a story. And, the technicals are spot on. A vertical crop also seems worth exploring. It might focus attention more on the little one and less on the mom's front leg.

Yes, I would crop out the mother's front leg and then I think it's a really great shot. Such an unusual moment captured (even if these kind of antics are quite common, they're not often photographed) and I love the soft lighting.

I moved the cut off from in front, to on and then behind the front legs. In front did not feel right and behind the front leg-it appeared as if the mom had no support for the body and everything looked off balance. Thanks for the suggestions.

Hi Ben - Very fun image with good interest and engaging story told. I like the skin textures and detail, as well as the comp. I agree on the mom's leg position. TFS.

As a record shot with your explanation it works fine. But I like to see images "stand-on-their-own" no comments necessary. With out your explanation I don't know what has happened to the little ele. This type of scene is perfect for video.
