    Default Green Heron.

I was weeding out files still on the card, when I accidentally clicked on and deleted them all.
I managed to recover most but not all.
These were the cherished Night heron and Green Heron images.
    This image survived.
Full frame but added some to the top and front by removing the same from the bottom and left.
    Thanks for looking.

Hi Karl, glad you managed to save this. Love the fishing pose, and lots to look at being so close. Maybe a bit more room at the bottom if you have.

Glad you were able to recover most of the images Karl! Love the sharpness, green water, and nice light. A little tight in the frame. There are a couple of spots at the base of the perch that seem too sharply focused, perhaps from some cloning.

I was just going to post a Green Heron frame - I parked it!
Really nice frame of this master fisherman

Ouch, sorry to hear about the loss, Karl, even if it wasn't that many you deleted. If you really feel like there were some prizes in there, maybe consider some sort of data recovery service on the card? Beautiful detail on this heron and wonderful light. Another great green heron portrait from you.

I like the sharpness, hunting pose, details, bits on the leg from wading in the water and clean BG. Well done Karl!

Lovely details and colors but wish for more space all around.

Thanks Marina. It was just too close for a 500 lens. I did my best. I focused (back) and recomposed.

    Karl,

You've got quite a series of the green heron, and I think this is my favorite of the bunch. Good call on adding the bit on top and right. If I were to add, I may try a bit to the bottom and right, although I think I quite like it how it is.

Background in this one is gorgeous and you got some great detail in the feathers!

Sorry, Karl! Been there, done that. I am glad you have this one in your files. Quite a nice closeup.

Quite close indeed. Good details, colours, pose. Tight in the frame for my taste but that's what you had. I see some processing artefacts between the legs and under the tail.

I would add some more canvas to top and right, but man what shot! Excellent detail of this beautiful heron. Nice clean bg and great head angle. Just Sweet.
