    Default Fin Whale

I thought with all these big cats and other predators being posted lately, I would post something a bit different. This is one of the largest mammals in the world, the fin whale. Taken in the waters off Svalbard, Norway.

    C&C welcome and appreciated. Thanks,

    Nice variety here Rachel
I like how the diagonals all line up to make for an engaging view, with a sense of motion. Sharpness and exposure well handled in the conditions you were shooting in.
Would it benefit from a slight toning down of brights?

Hi Morkel - thanks, brights look fine on my monitor so I'm not sure. Where do you think they are too bright? I've already done a luminosity mask.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel

    Hi Rachel
Like the textures and the composition on this. I'd like a bit more space on the LHS if you have it?

Thanks Ed, this is full frame (ff) so no more room.

    Thanks again,

    Hi Rachel,
I like your composition, how the diagonal divides the frame, and the color of the water. Was this a lone whale or part of a larger pod?

Hi Steve - thanks, this particular fin whale seemed to be diving and surfacing with 2 others and then there were another 2 not far away.

    Thanks again,
    Rachel
