Nice action captured here and excellent exposure and detail. My only thoughts is I find the crop a tad tight. thanks for sjaring.

I like the action and the eye contact. Agree with Judy that it feels a little tight in the frame.

The thing I find interesting in this image is the apparent calmness. It looks as though the bird is gently plucking a fish from the water, when in reality it was probably very action packed. It makes for nice juxtaposition. On the technical side, the exposure and light are nice and I agree with the crop suggestions above.

    Phil,

Good action captured and colors plus exposure look right on. Like that you left the right amount of room below for the virtual legs. Would like to have seen a bit more of a head turn towards you. Back of bird needs about twice the amount given and the front of the bird would have needed twice the increased back amount. Side to side distribution I like is 1/3 behind and 2/3 in front. Hope that makes sense.

i appreciate the specific comments on how to improve this image. very little cropping was done so i guess i need to learn how to extend canvas.
