I am actually a bit intimidated to post my shot after all the outstanding images previously posted today.
The talent of my fellow BPN'ers never ceases to amaze me.
I went out to the airport this am to see if I could get any "grass" shorebirds and got a lovely visit from this flicker. The light was gorgeous (7:10AM) and I did not enhance the colors. Colors are accurate. He was on a little incline.

Gail - this is right up there with the others. Beautiful, golden light, excellent detail and sharpness. Might just do another round of NR or perhaps even a slight blur to the bg.

Hi Gail, tack, tack sharp, and you certainly used the best light available, which in turn, as you have stated, has brought the various colours so well. Nicely separated from the distant BG, and I like your low angle of capture.

I like the light, details, feather patterns and low angle. Nice image of a bird I have yet to get.

I think the bird is lit very nicely. The detail in the bird is very good and I love the golden light. Certainly nothing the be intimidated about with this one!

Beautiful woodpecker captured in nice light quality. I've tried to capture flickers on the ground many times...it's a challenge. You did well here. I only wish that the background had been more distant to allow for better subject isolation.

This is a very nice image of an amazing looking bird! Great light, sharpness and detail. I think that if you had used f/5.6 the BG would be even better.
