    Looks like a female Summer Tanager to me Richard. I like the green BG and the nice color in the bird. It looks a little oversharpened in places.

    I've always been fascinated by molting birds, so this is a nice observation of a transitional plumage. I agree the subject is oversharpened in some spots, and I do find the composition tight. Good colours and BG...

    How much of a crop? Would love to see this one looser in the frame and as noted above, less sharpening applied. Interesting bird with nice eye contact!

    Richard,

    From the thumbnail I thought it was a bit tight. If you have some room around, I would add it. The colors on that guy are great, did you happen to snap any more shots?

    Agreed about it being over-sharpened. It looks like the focus was on the wings and the head was just a bit out of the acceptable depth of field?

    Hi all
    Reposting with less sharpening and mopre space. Actually I have a few more of these but in the main the breast is touching the perch more.
    Here is one of the others if thats OK
    I also have the male.
