From Long Island's North Shore. An infrequent bird for that area graced my viewfinder last night. My exif data says that it was taken at 7:15, sunset was at 7:20. I struggled with sharpness as the incoming tide was pushing at me and making it hard to not move. Got a few keepers.

I like everything about this image Grace. Regarding your struggle with the tide, I especially like the low angle and the incoming swell of a wave in foreground. The youngster appears to be aware of its approach. Beautiful evening light.

    Hi Grace

I love this, the light on the bird is fantastic. Even though the foreground is quite busy I like it.
I agree with Geoffrey that the incoming wave adds to the image.

I like the eye contact, light, sharpness and transition from water to rocks. Nice image Grace!

Love this image. Really like the light on this bird and the BG works really well. Cool perspective photographing it from the water to the shore. Awesome!

Hi Grace, sweet, sweet light, and what a great 3D effect the image has. Lots of detail on the plover, sharp, and I really like how the plover pops from the BG. An opportunity well used.

    Hi Grace,
I love the clean, fresh plumage of this BB Plover.
The pink twilight light is really beautiful.
IQ and low POV are excellent.
I could see this with a bit of a crop from the top, but lovely as is,
    Gail

This one does not work so well despite the elegant lighting....The subject is posed nicely and is sharp. The surroundings are a visual mess imo. The large brighter rocks towards the top of the frame do not help matters as my naturally moves the brightest areas of the scene.

Love the light, head angle, setting. The warm colours and greens complement each other so well here! I'd likely tone down the brightest rock halfway between the head and top edge, but all else is top-notch.
