    Default After the Rain

Another of my beautiful Texas hibiscus blooms, this one photographed after the rain stopped and the sun came out. I can't remember what all I did but I darkened the background a lot, and I used either Topaz Adjust or Detail, then I used Perfect Effects with 2 or 3 filters stacked including a vignette and I like the color I ended up with, with the blue-green color on the leaves.

I'm on my iPhone so can't see a very large image, but this just looks stunning! So sharp and detailed with beautiful colors and great composition.

I love it, Judy! The high contrast of the flower is very striking against the dark BG. Nice composition and details, and I love the bright red of the flower.

Thanks Christopher! I really should use Perfect Effects more. I tend to forget about it since it's not in the Filter menu.

Great colors and composition, Judy! Nice use of the various filters. With the reds and greens, it would make a wonderful holiday greeting. I can't decide if I would like some of the light bits in the background darkened or not. Certainly a fine image as is.

Thanks Cindy! I kinda like the slightly mottled background on this one.

The rich, saturated colors against the black bkgd. make this a lovely graphic. I really like the way the petals open wide and nearly fill the image. The raindrops are a very nice addition.

Nice one Judy! The colors and tones are perfect for the flower and leaves. Loving the composition and amazing detail. I would be ever so tempted to completely black out the bg on the left half of the image, but that's just me.

I like the sharpness and the colours Judy. I might go completely black on the BG, but I seem to have a penchant for all black.
