    One of my favorite subject are Burrowing Owls they have so much personality

    !D MKIII, 500 f/4, 1/640 at f/5.6, Aperture Priority, Evaluative Metered +2/3, ISO 800, Tripod, No crop pretty much straight from the camera with my normal post work flow.

    Hi Don, great eye contact, and love the feather detail. Being so nicely in the open, we have a great view of the talons, and that BG is sweet. Although the little guy isnt centrally placed, I would still move him over to the left a touch.

    I like the eye clarity, sharpness, details and BG. I agree with Stuarts composition suggestion. Well done Don!

    Lot of things to like in the image, the bird is sharp and fluffy making it sweet, the perch is nice and the BG is one i love a lot with those colours

    10 out of 10 on the cuteness and smile scale.
    The puffed up chest really adds to the image as does the eye level view.
    The best part is the clear view of the talons.

    very nice image. love the slightly closed eyes.

    This is a burrowing owl correct? read the title, but then saw the long bare legs and thought it looks different from the little owls we have here.
