Every early morning I met this one, same spot or area. 5min away from the camp. This morning encounter was rather funny. Have seen this Hyena again but passed it, was after a bit bigger animals that day. Driving along a small road, suddenly in my eye to the left, the Hyena was running beside my car! Thought we humans follow animals!!! Anyway, taken out of the rolling car. Well, it was running with me, I just went my way!! The speed was about 20km, not fast. The Hyena was running along for about 1.5 -2 km!!

LR all adjustments & WB, graduate on horizon to darken a bit. PS CS 6, check WB again, Luminosity, Mid-tone contrast, Levels, sharpen done. FF

This is cool Anette, I like the running pose, the teeth showing and the evil glint in the eye :-)

    Hi Annette,
I love the running pose and light.....a bit more room on the bottom and less on top for my tastes....but a very nice image overall!

Hi Anette - very well done from a moving vehicle (or from a stationary vehicle for that matter). Nice pov and warmth to the image. I might prefer just a tad more below and I might take just a tiny bit off the top and rhs.

    TFS,
    Rachel

Anette, this is an interesting shot and I believe a tough one to take in a moving vehicle. As pointed out before I would have preferred the more at the bottom and less of the sky on top. I like the open mouth and visible teeth. A slight tilt of his head towards you would have made this nice image even better. But alas with these animals we can only hope. TFS.

Wonderful shot. I like the Hyena running into the frame. Like the composition with the placement of the subject in the lower left corner.

    Thank you very much everybody.

Sanjeev, thanks so much. Evil eye
Roman & Rachel, I do not have more bottom, that is FF, but I like it how it is composed.
Bhushan, I do have an image with the head & body tilted a bit more to me. The IQ is a bit less in that, since my knees have been steering the car ( I was alone ), had both hands busy with camera. Don't tell anyone, but was slow going and the road was straight as a ruler, no animals around. Also had after every burst to check where I am going, so the IQ is not quite what I like on the "tilt to me shot!"

Thank you very much Markus, I do like the comp that way as well.

    Thank you very much everybody

Have a great day & evening

    Ciao

What a funny story! Love the light and motion here...and agree that more space below would have been ideal. I'm okay with head angle here personally.
Can't wait for our family Etosha/Kgalagadi trip later this year!

A very fine capture under difficult conditions (e.g. steering with knees). I enjoyed your story. I agree re. the crop. I suggest trying a 16x9 crop. I like the movement portrayed by the raised front feet. TFS.

Sounds like a neat sighting. IQ looks pretty good and you did a nice job of showing off those gangly front legs.

Thank you very much Morkel, Andrew and Steve.
I will have a look into the 16:9 crop. Was thinking about it, when I saw it posted in here.
    Thanks so much guys

Hi Anette - Great effort in difficult conditions. The image is sharp and details well preserved. I would crop out the sky and create more space at the bottom as said. Great story told as well. TFS.

Hi Anette, an interesting story, and a behaviour Ive never heard of before. You made the most of the opportunity, and I like the running pose. Colours look good too. Well captured.
