Mike, a super species. I like the steely gray background as well. The large amount of oof foreground is a distraction to me...I'd trim from there and add to the top. Sure would love to have this in my files.

Great look at this species; sharp, well exposed, nice head turn. I like the way you left room for the underwater virtual legs, but I'd still trim some off the bottom and add to the top per Grace's suggestion.

I like the details, sharpness, BG and exposure. Another vote for some off the bottom. Well done Mike.

    Hey Mike,
Great exposure but for me....the POV is too low as the OOF FG is distracting to me. Everything else is spot on!

Nice one Mike, I would add a little more space in front of the bird.

Lovely color and detail mike and while I like to low perspective I have to agree with the others on losing just a tad off the bottom, still a strong image.

Hi Mike, great low perspective, tack sharp, and you have brought out the feather detail nicely. The focus on the water gives the impression that the water is boiling/bubbling, and I agree to take a bit off the bottom.

This is the shorebird I most want to see someday. What a gorgeous bird you have portrayed so well, the detail and IQ are wonderful. I like Grace's comp suggestion.

Wonderful shot. Fantastic image quality and great soft light and colors.
For me the foreground works great and I wouldn't change anything.
