Very nice Dave! I always wonder how these birds pull it off to catch more fish when they already have some in their beak. The light is lovely, I like the position of the bird in the frame, but the BG is rather noisy. I think it could use both luminance and color NR.
Thanks Jerry and I take on board what you are saying have tried using lightroom to improve the shot but I do find the problem is made by low quality Photobucket pics, the original looks ok
The repost is better, but the image seems to suffer from jpeg compression...you are possibly correct that somehow photobucket is reducing the quality. Have you tried uploading a correctly resized version there rather than allowing them to reduce it for you?
Anyhow, nice light you got here, and the pose is quite good. Perhaps toning down the whites on the belly a tad would be worthwhile.
