102% Full frame . I got real lucky I didn't clip the wing but added 2% canvas to the RHS for some breathing room.
I could add a bit of canvas on the bottom for the virtual legs and will see what you guys have to say.
I cloned out the bill of another godwit from the RHS

Hi Gail, this is great viewing this at 1200 wide, shows up so much detail, and sharp too. I like how the wings extend up into the URC, and the overall light looks nice and soft, which in turn has shown up the colours so well. Well captured.

That's just out of this world, Gail. About as perfect as it gets. Big congrats to you. The only thing I could say is just that it feels a little tight. But this is totally glorious.

Beautiful image of a beautiful bird . Love the fine detail including the water droplets on the near wing. I would like more room on the bottom for the legs.

A bit tight for me too, but that's it, and it certainly does not take away from the image. Fantastic image Gail, congratulations this is awesome!!

I think the comp is perfect. It really shows off the feather detail well and if a shot is this sharp, show it off. Great shot with the wings up and the HA could not be better. The soft blue water BG showcases the bird beautifully. Well done Gail!

Thank you all for the glowing comments. I have to say I am quite surprised by the reaction because I thought it was a bit of an ordinary shot! Lots of detail, yes, but a bit sterile and clinical.
Now, I am wondering how many images are in my portfolio that I dismiss that I should perhaps look at again!!

When everything is as fine and sharp as this is , it allows the viewer to marvel at the beauty and intricacy of the bird . That, combined with the connection made with the viewer from the eye contact makes the image anything but clinical and sterile. Birds are indeed art,
as is your photograph. Yes, search those files as I suspect more gems are hiding.

Stunning shot. Great wing pose, perfect image quality. Wonderful light. I wouldn't add anything at the bottom.
