    Default Black-throated Sparrow

Another photo of a black-throated sparrow taken a month back. Finally got a chance to go through them again and I found this one that I liked. It was taken in the evening light. I particularly like the "rim light" around the sparrow.

I had to selectively darken the background to bring back some of the richness and not have it look so washed out.

Lovely image Miguel - I really like the back-lighting in this and the perch is very cool!

Very lovely sparrow, and you got it singing! great job getting the BG dark a bit since it really makes the bird to stand out! nice plant where the bird is perched. Is this a set up or you just were lucky to find it there?

Like the pose ,perch and nice bg. I think an adjustment to deepen midtones would help and more contrast depth and pop.

Hi Miguel, well placed in the frame, and well timed to capture the singing moment with the open beak. I like the roundness of the body, various colours around the head, and what a sweet BG.

Thanks Juan. I didn't set up a perch, but they usually go to the top of the cacti when they call out, so it wasn't too much waiting before one was close enough to photograph.

I was going to mention how I like the "rim lighting" around the subject and saw you liked it yourself :-) Nice singing pose, great perch (which I'd try to tone down) and BG.
