Default Dance of the Crowned Cranes

Just back from my 2 & 1/2 week Tanzania tour. This was one of my favorites as the cranes went about their mating dance early in the am. I am already looking forward to next years tours and I will definitely concentrate more on this action!
Canon 1D Mark lll and the Sigma 300-800 @ 731mm at f/5.6 for 1/500 sec. and ISO 800. Slight crop right and top. As I post I see a bit of noise under the wing....so may run some NR on it.

Those are some cool birds...nice poses on both. I see a ccw rotation in order and just a touch of clean up on a few dark spots in the background if your ethics allow. Well done.

Fantastic colors and great light. Beautiful dance action. When I was there in mid June, I saw them twice, but no mating dance and the light was overcast. Great job! Loi

Class image depicting the cranes. No nits from me.
Very sharp; look at those eyes!

Hi Roman, this is lovely, just love the light and colours on this one, and the display posture was well captured, right time at the right place. I guess the noise has come from lifting the blacks which do look rather thin now, I would look at that and it should not be an issue.

    Very nice image.

Love the colours in the wings. I have only seen these birds in captivity. It must be amazing to see them in the wild.
    Can't fault this.

Exceptional cool and beautiful birds, A real treat to view them, must be a thrill to see them in person.
Sharp and detailed as can be, I don't notice noise here, I also would clean up the spots in the BG.
    Terrific comp.

    A very romantic couple indeed!
Very good behavioral image, light, pose and details. Way to go! I do see the noise you mean.

Stunning capture, Roman. I love the behavior you've captured, the light on that wing, the details, your comp. Thanks for sharing this.

I am viewing on my IPad so can't really comment on the noise aspect.
I love the light and the poses. the detail on the wing is wonderful.
I would clone out the brown blobs in the BG if not against your ethics.
    well done,
    Gail

Hey Roman, welcome back to this side of the pond! Awesome interaction and nice light. Details look good, and some NR would be good as you state from your description. I also wish for a better HA on the left bird but I can certainly live with it as is.

for me everything work in this image - the colours, the dance, the sharpness, your perspective. All spot on
