Greetings. So working on the last one I used a single pixel brush to fill in a couple of spots and it occurred to me (perhaps, I'm a bit slow) that hey you could just put a black overlay layer over an image, reduce transparency to use the image as a guide and paint lines (white in a black mask) over the major features of the image. The color of the original would kind of self-correct some of the crudeness (well, my drawing crudeness anyway). When finished (and to check how things are looking) return the black fill later to 100% opacity, Boost brightness and saturation to taste (single pixel lines are a bit faint... and voilą...
This was done very quickly maybe 15 minutes... ha, I'm rather pleased...
