    Default Common Blackbird

Here's a bird that all you Brits will recognize instantly! They are an introduced bird here in Melbourne - a feral, but I do like their beautiful song!

I certainly do recognise the bird Greg! Very nice pose and details. I get the impression you have blurred the background/foreground differentially??

Hi Johnathan, no I haven't blurred the BG - just toned down some bright areas,
    Cheers Greg

Hi Greg, super pose captured here, and I like how the yellow of the eye ring and beak pop against the blacks of the bird. Cool multi coloured BG.

I wont mention the cricket or the rugby. I may have eat my words next weekend when we play you guys in your backyard. Cheers.

A very nice turdid indeed. Nice eyering and great alert pose. I believe the colour of the bird works pretty well with the colours on background.

    Hi,

Looks great to me - overall beautiful effect, and the details on the bird, the smooth bg, the splash of color in the foreground, are just right. There's a bright white spot on the wing - was that on the bird?, and perhaps it should be cloned out as it's a bit distracting.

This has a very autumnal feel, great colours and setting (although I'd probably just tone down the the bright yellowish oof twig in front of the belly). I like the comp, and the bill and eye ring look great and pop nicely. Although very minor I feel that filling in the very tiny yellow triangle at very bottom left corner would give a stronger finish to the edge. Highly appealing, love it!

Frankly, this is one of the nicest backgrounds...like watercolor effect or something....I've seen on an avian image in some time. Gorgeous looking bird too, and the light was just right for plenty of detail in the blacks. It's either due to decreased participation on the site or general lack of interest for blackbird species, or a combination of both, that has caused the image to render less of a response. Whatevs...imo, it's a great image.
