Nice soft light, excellent pose and setup, Alan. I like the flowering branch as a perch.

The flowers are a great accessory for this plain bird!
Techs and IQ are excellent. DOF is perfect.
I like the flowers in RUC as a frame for the bird but I am not so sure about all the OOF flowers on the left. It makes the image a bit heavy on that side and I find my eye goes there first and then to the thrasher,
    Gail

This is a species that has given me a tough time to photograph so I can really appreciate this image! If anything, I almost wish there were a few more flowers in URC...but certainly OK as is too.

    Alan,

Glad to see a lot of your images making your way onto here :) Another beauty on a wonderful perch.

    Looking forward to some more.

Absolutely gorgeous bird -- it stands out in 3D from the beautiful BG.

I was thinking the same thing Daniel brought up -- it would be interesting to make those flowers in the URC even more OOF and somewhat lower contrast, and plant another branch thee, of even less prominence -- i.e. still more OOF.

Killer species, light and set up! I really like the focused eye, and the dynamic pose the bird is giving you!
