Superb image of beautiful Hero.I like the placement of bird and perch ,concentration of him and inclusion of environment, beautiful colors and nice details.
If mine, would remove the OOF leaves from the FG.

    Regards,
    Satish.

Beautiful bird, IQ is great. I agree with Satish regarding the FG leaf, and I'd burn down the bright portion of the BG above the bird's head.

Hi Karl, love the intense fishing pose, and a good choice of comp to suit that long neck. I feel you have added too much contrast to the overall image. I thought I would give it a go by reducing the contrast on the overall image, and while I was at it, I removed the OOF plant in the FG. Hope you dont mind.

I also fixed your title ( you typed in grren heron, and of course it should have been green heron )

Great light, color and pose, Karl. Don't you love how these guys can look almost like different species when they change from a crouching to an upright pose. Stuart's repost nails it.

Great comp, pose and habitat. I like the version with the leaves cloned out.

Super portrait of this Green Heron in a classic hunting pose stance, Karl. Stuart's rework brings it up a notch. Vertical was definitely the way to go here.

Great looking pose on this Heron. Nice light on the subject and the detail looks great. I like the repost and the FG plant removed. Well done

Love the pose! I also like the version without the FG plant.

Very nice heron, light is so sweet and it's funny to see how they can extend their necks in order to reach their prays! A great image and I will vote for the repost.
