    Jon:

The lighting here is very effective, with just the right balance of frontal and back lighting.
I like the detail in both the insects and the perch, encourages the eye to roam around.
    BG colors works well.

    Nicely lit and captured.

    Cheers

This is pretty much perfection. Talk about parallelling the subject! I love all the diagonal lines. I wish only that you had pointed the camera up just a bit. This would have made two small improvements:

1- put a bit more room above the subjects than below.
2-reduced the very slight background gradient effect at the bottom of the frame.

Hi Jon. A good example of working the subject - you now have (at least) two outstanding, but different, images from the same photo opportunity! Again - interesting behavior captured, very good overall sharpness and detail on your subjects, a clean background, and good use of the reflector. Excellent work!

Hi Jon, excellent DOF throughtout the whole image, and you have certainly captured the finer detail nicely. I feel your comp works well, and both damselflies pop so well against the smooth BG.

Great detail and nice DOF on these guys. I see them all the time at our boat but haven't got a great shot yet.

Nice image. The blue against dark bg is most effective. Nice composition. Good detail. Nice backlighting and use of reflector--created nice light.
