I love the detail and sharpness, and what a great perch. The warm BG color is very pleasant, too, with the slightly cooler subject.

    Chris:

    Sharp, nice pose, well exposed.

I like the angle in the frame.

I find the bright lower leaf a bit distracting, because the lighting on the insect is so subdued.

    Cheers

Magic! Excellent detail colours and exposure. The dew ids perhaps a little eye catching I think this is becasue there is in relative terms quite a lot of it. Maybe a crafty bit of cloning patching on the right would minimise it's impact???

Very good sharp image. DOF is good with the big red eye as the focal point

Great background and love the dew on the perch

Not too keen on the bright OOF leaf beneath but not a showstopper

Hi Christopher. It looks like you had excellent luck photographing these flies! Very nice sharpness and detail and I like the low shooting angle and the clean background. The dew drops add interest to the leaf. Like some of the others, I'm not as fond of the bright OOF leaf below the perch - because it is relatively bright and tends to draw my eye. If this was mine, I'd probably try to remove it. Overall, this is very well done!

This insect stands out nicely from the beautiful, smooth bg. Excellent details! I agree with Steve's comments. Excellent composition.
