    The Hermosa Cliffs north of Durango, CO.

    Take around 2004 with a long since retired Olympus E-10. Actually it still works fine but made the switch to Canon. C&C welcome.

    Hi David,
    Is this an original slide scan??? My guess is yes..as the contrast is huge! I like the color and comp.....but as presented it could use a toning down overall. I'll try to work on it tomorrow if nobody beats me to it!

    David,

    Like you I have problems with the slide scans. I used to use those really saturated emulsions and the scans come out similar to yours. Details look good but contrast and saturation are high.

    Try a reverse s-curve to tone contrast and a hue/saturation adjustment layer to reduce saturation.

    I like the composition and colors. The trees almost appear to me to be an ocean surf breaking on the cliffs and the cliffs have a nice receding look into the image leading ones eye into it.

    It is a beautiful scene worthy of the extra effort required to make it better. I agree the contrast and saturatoin are too much.
