    Default Wolverine mother

During my weekend in Finland, it was raining most of the time, and a constant overcast. But for a moment the sun shined through. This is the mother of the wolverine I posted recently. I think IQ is better on this one. You can really see on her face how wet she is.

Cropped slightly, adjusted some levels, sharpen and some noise reduction.

Gregor, I like how you have captured the wolverine in its environment, though shot with the low DOF is keeping the focus on the subject.

There seems to be a yellow/magenta cast across the image, which I quickly neutralised in LR using the dropper tool and put through a quick curves adjustment to bring to the exposure and get more detail in the highlights/midtones. Also think cropping the tree from the right of the frame would help with comp.

WDYT? Appreciate scene may have had warmer tones, though this could be a good starting point.

Hi Gregor - though substantially cooler I think Russell's repost is in the right direction (though you were there). His adjustments have brought out more detail and tamed the whites on the head. Depending on your ethics, you may want to clone or crop to get rid of the bright strand of grass in the lower left.

very nice comp. like the environment depicted here & the subject is pretty sharp.
since you knew the light better, you might decide on how warm the setting was
& then adjust the color cast.

Gregor, on my monitor there certainly is a yellow cast, it's up to you since you were there but I agree with Rachel on cooling it a bit.

I think anyone with a shot of a wolverine should be proud of his image! I agreed with Russell regarding the magnets cast. I find Russell's repost is a bit too cool though. But you would be the best to judge. I think the image was slightly exposed as the whites on the head seemed to be blown with not much detail. Can you see any detail on your high resolution image? Hi, and thanks for all help and suggestion.
This is a new version. I do agree about cropping closer to get rid of the little tree stump on the right. I also clearly had pulled the the white and light in PP, so I blowed the white in her face. Think this is much better.
Colortemp is always for me a tricky thing. It seems to be very much a taste thing. In this case there really was a moment of golden light. Temp out of the camera was warmer than my OP. But I get your point of a yellow cast. Sitting and trying different version on my uncalibrated MacBook Pro 17´, this is what I for now decided on. Always open for new suggestions.

I love this species, and a nice "in environment" shot this, Gregor.
I like Russels RP for the detail he brought out but feel it's a bit on the "green" side in terms of colour?
Your last RP is better but still has some magenta (see the tree trunks). I would consider cropping from the bottom to lose that bright "stick" protruding into the frame just behind the wolverine tail.
