Spent some time on the beach watching this Osprey attempt to catch fish. Non caught in the 1 plus hour that I was there. I wonder if it is a juvi honing it's skills??
Cropped from horizontal for posting.

Nice wing stretch and shooting angle, Joe.
Awesome composition. Was it quite a big crop?
Great shot - been chasing one all week, no luck. The underwing pattern doesnt look like adult so probably juv - nice work
Yes, a fresh juvie. Sharp and I like the varied blue BKGR. Wish that the bird's right wing were more fully spread for more even illumination. Take care of Neesie this weekend :).

Nice diagonal pose and wingspread. Good subtle hint of clouds, which I like, and I also like the vertical crop here...but I could see a version with a bit more trimmed below.

Thanks Joe. That's what I thought.

Excellent lighting of the subject, pretty much right on in my book. I like the subtle cloud definition in the sky...though it's really subtle. Sharp look details. Exposure looks good. I can see at least three dust sensor spots in the upper part of the frame towards the left hand side. I like to intentionally overly darken an image with a clean bg like this when I'm processing, as it reveals the dust sensor spots easily. How does one tell this is a juvenile bird?....I like to learn new things :)
Like all juvenile shorebirds and raptors this bird shows crisp, warm, evenly patterned feathers that indicate fresh juvenal plumage.
