There are a pair of these eagles that are almost resident in the area. Have been fortunate to see them pretty often.

    Carl:

    Dynamic pose, well exposed, sharp.

The bird is angling away from us, which generally isn't quite as engaging to the viewer.

Along the top line, just in front of the tail, is a raised triangular area which seems to have suffered from some of the cloning.

The color palette of the bird and background go well together.

    Cheers

BG compliments the subject well. Seems to be some noise in the dark areas of the bird. Otherwise a fine image. Great eye on this subject. Just wish for a better angle.

Hi Carl, a great sighting captured here, and we have a good view of the near wing. I too can see noise on the wing, and not sure where's its from, as the Mark IV at ISO 640 shouldnt create noise. Have you tried to bring out detail there?

A nice eagle! you are so lucky to see them where you live. it looks like you underexposed the image at the moment of taking the picture and then tried to recover details on dark feathers since there is evident noise there. At ISO 640 the Mark IV should not give you this problem . There is also evidence of cloning work around the tail. I do like the light and BG complements the bird quite nicely.

Juan it's not the Mk IV it is me. I shot this at -1. My exposure techniques are getting better now. This was taken a while back. I also cropped it quite a lot which does not help. I'm reposting with changes from everyone's input. I tried some noise on the bird but it is not working. The bird is angling away as mentioned.

Thanks Stuart, Joe and Randy for your input. Your feedback is much appreciated. Thanks

Nice down wing position and details. I like the background too. The shooting angle could have been a little better.

Killer wing position. Try saving your jpegs optimized to 395 kbs; there were not many pixels to work with. First I worked on the face with NIK DE and TC and then did some pretty fancy Eye Doctor and Bill Doctor work. With the bird/head angled slightly away the head was slightly in shadow; that exacerbated the problem.
