I have done a few different looks with this image and thought I would give it a scratch art look. Fractalius was used twice on the image; the first application made the painterly look and the second one added just a bit more edge definition.

Bottom right corner needs darkening my eye keeps going there and I want to look at a great image.
Grahame
I like the look you created. Very nice. Painterly. Minimal. The feathers on the bird are especially beautiful. Also, the ground the bird is standing on. Flowing and graceful. I think the image would be improved by creating a dark area on the lower right corner, from about halfway to the corner. Too much is going on there and it draws my eye away from the subject. I'm unsure about the green opposite the bird--it is a bit jarring. A crop from the top, also. I think a few changes will make this beautiful image great!
Kerry, I absolutely love the flow of the bird and branch and the dark background. Beautiful scratch art and I like the inclusion of color. I think Grahame and Anita make a good point about the right being a bit too bright and busy. I think I'd remove the fern and darken the bottom right just a tad. Beautiful image![]()

I agree with some of the other comments. First, it is a gorgeous image. I love the Frac effect on all of it. I would remove the fern and maybe tone down the LRC a little but I like it included, and I agree about a slice off of the top.
I love the smooth, flowing lines in this image. Very painterly and I also like how the shadows blend with the BG. I agree with the suggestions already given.
Very dark and brooding Kerry. I might darken the LRC just a touch too. Almost a chiaroscuro/Rembrandt like effect with the totally black BG.
