Made a silly amatuerish mistake on this one and did not leave room for the virtual legs, so had to add canvas. Otherwise, normal processing.

    Grace:

Excellent shooting angle, nice light, head angle, exposure, gradient bg.

    Good job with canvas extension.

I enjoyed the 'muddy' picture of your crew!

    Cheers

So cool bird! in fact I had a chance to see it this morning! Lovely light here and if you don't mention the canvas fix I would not notice it! this bird is posing very proudly, nice water and tech specs.

Very "clean" and simple image with the low angle and the colors of water and BG. First I thought of taking off the green edge on the top, but I think it is nicer like this. Well done.

    Very nice Grace.
Was this in LI or Fort Desoto?
I really like all the room you gave him.
Lovely HA and body position AKA " the model strut".
Great light and BG. Your PP work looks good-I would not have known you had done any canvas extension.

Awesome, you may have made an "newb" mistake with space on the bottom, but everything else about this image is absolutely pro level imo. Love the light quality, shooting angle, colors, sharpness, stride, and sweet head angle.

I have a feeling this was in Long Island. What a wonderful portrait, Grace. I just love your low angle of course, that inquisitive look towards you. The light, background, IQ and comp are all superb. You did great with your canvas extension, I would not have suspected for a second.

I am guessing the East Pond at Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge. But it could be Fort DeSoto. That's why I asked. Grace must be out taking pictures. Will we ever know for sure?

From Grace via e-mail on 8/24:

"I am in the sunshine state for a wedding this weekend . Can't sign in to BPN but I see your question. Godwit was on Long Island a couple weeks ago."

    I was close :)

As for the image, I love it. Wonderful bird--this was my spark bird species, and wonderful light. Image design is fine as is but I would not mind a bit off the bottom. Or not. PS work is excellent.
