We heard of a Cheetah and her two cubs walking on a hill side, but arrived a bit late, so only got to watch them devour their impala kill. Most of the time I was blocked behind the tall grass until everyone left and we could move into position for this shot.

Hi Loi - Always nice to see a cheetah and she looks relaxed. This doesn't seem to have the same IQ as your recent posts and I am wondering if you did something different in pp or if you think it is a function of the different lens and camera. You should get stellar results from the 5D3.
Hi Rachel, thank you for your comments. I had been holding on this image for quite a while, thinking something is off, but couldn't put a finger on it, and now you said it is the IQ. It's reasonably sharp in 100% view, so I think the lack of good light is probably the main culprit. The 70-300L can give sharp, good colors and contarst in good light. The cheetah was in the shade of a tree in mid day sun. I did the RAW conversion a while back, so should just re-start from scratch later to see if my PP has gotten better in recent weeks. Loi
very nice image. Cheetah between the lunch I have to agree with Rachel on all points. I also would remove the white spot/flower on the left. It jumped into my eyes. But this is of course up to you.
Beside techs, I think this picture come in the category kept as long as you donīt have anything better. Cheetahs is always nice animals, but this picture is quite messy and you canīt even see his eyes clearly. So I would choose a other picture to work with, if you have. Donīt get me wrong I donīt want to put you off posting. But picture selection is one important choice. But then, this is difficult. You sit there and look at your picture and get uncertain, do I have something here or not.
Hi Everyone, I took a critical look at the image and the culprit for the lack of IQ is that the image is not that sharp at 100% view. So, thanks for all your comments and next time I will be more careful with checking for sharpness. Unfortunately, all of my cheetah images had one issue or another, so I guess I have to go back next year for another try :)
Wow she looks round! She's not in the most appealing pose, but you got a good image with lots of interesting detail including the remainder of the kill. Nice one.

Besides not looking up-to-scratch IQ-wise compared to your recent postings, Loi...it's also not ticking my boxes in terms of overall visual appeal. Sorry for being too straight a shooter if you experience it that way...
For me it's not an attractive angle (nothing you could probably do about that), and the busy surroundings aren't helping either...still a great sighting to see cheetahs on kills!
