Default D7000 D-C Cormorant with Paul Lagasi

I took this photo sitting next to Paul Lagasi on his recent visit to NS- he using his D800E, 70-200 and 1.4TC, and other details as per his post from yesterday evening. I used my D7000, with 300 f4 AF-S and TCE-14ll. Both hand-held, and through the open vehicle window in rather harsh light, at the same time.

1/1250, f6.3, manual exposure - 0.33EV, light crop, curves, nr etc. in LR4 and PSE9.

I believe Paul flipped his image L -> R in post. I'm not sure how much he cropped his, or if any differences between the 2 images are due to hardware, technique or pp.

    Thanks for looking,

    Richard

    Richard:

Because the water isn't the greatest, I think the tighter crop here works well. I like the drops on the back, erect neck.

Yes, harsh light. Your longer focal length, crop factor, gives the sense of lower shooting angle.

    Cheers
