From Gatorland. I was doing a close-up at 1200mm when he opened his mouth. So I took images of the eye sharp and then the nose sharp and blended them. May be a bit tight in front but I like that as it accentuates the down the throat look.

Very nice work, Robert. I'll have to try that technique sometime. It looks seamless to me. Love the color and texture in the water and the reflection really adds to the gaping mouth look. Some of the teeth look hot on my monitor.

I agree with everything Steve said. The technique really worked and the image is a big winner.

    Thanks Gentleman.

The teeth are all below 255 RGB on any channel. No real detail except for the green slime. I am going to clone one hot spot on the nose.

    Hi Robert!

Looks seamless to me, and real nice. I like how the perfect reflection "fills in" the virtual mandible and teeth! Makes me look twice, and then again at it to figure it out! The background colors are beautiful.

I will say one thing, I really like those colors. And it is a down the throat image.

This image has real impact. The colors look great on my monitor and I love the reflection. I am going to have to try the technique of blending images to achieve more DOF.

Love this one, Robert, especially the reflection and background color. I agree that tight in the frame works for this one. Thanks for the info on the technique; something I definitely want to try.

It looks awesome, Robert- love that reflection and the tunnel effect. You really lucked out when it opened it's mouth. I really admire the texture and color of the water, and the play of light.

When I first saw the thumbnail I thought it was a hippo!
    Best regards

Wonderful image Robert! I love the fact that the reflected upper jaw simulates the lower jaw. Colors are awsome and your blending of two different image is indeed seemless.
