Loi, looks like a type of Ibis to me. Great habitat photo. I just wish the background wasn't quite so busy behind his head as I find myself losing the focus of the image, lol. Other than that good exposure for both the whites and blacks of this bird.
Personally, I find this one almost as "ugly" as the vulture... :-)

Nice habitat shot Loi. Sharp & very well exposed. But the bird is a bit centered IMO. Regarding the ID, It's a Sacred Ibis (Threskiornis aethiopicus).

Hi Moshen, it is a Sacred Ibis indeed. I kept racking my brain and ca't remember it.

Satish, I did try this crop. It shows the bird better, but I feel that the bird needs more room on top.

    Thank you both.

Hi Loi, well exposed on the Ibis, and I like the typical african bush. I feel Satish's repost works best - the Ibis is actually looking down to the water, so not much room really wanted above. There again, its all about how you like your image.

Hey Loi, glad you got the species name sorted out! He's looking rather good despite what nature gave it (or didn't!). For me there is not enough subject to BG separation creating a very busy look, but we do get a nice feel of the habitat this fella lives in, I especially like the water at bottom.

A little busy for my taste but does make for a great environment shot. You handled the exposure well
