Last year I somehow won Best in Show with a Spoonbill in flight photo. Earlier this week I learned that I'd won the 2013 contest as well, with this image of Sidney, a gorgeous, healthy, breeding female Saltwater Crocodile. Shot through thick plexi-glass (eeesh) with a Nikon D300, 70-200 VR1, 1.4 tc. @280mm, f/4, 1/3200, iso 400, -0.3 ev.

I happened to see that announcement on FB, Robert. A huge congratulations to you...esp for the 2 years in a row. Really love the croc against the gorgeous colors of the water and you have a super low angle.

Congrats on the win. Nice light, low angle and creamy bokeh. The pano crop was a good choice.

Congrats, and a great angle on this lady. That eye is creepy! Good quality for shooting through plexi-glass...
I'd perhaps have liked a bit more foreground and less on top...to make you feel like you are in the water with her?
