Ooh, glad you were able to figure out how to add an image as this looks very promising! Excellent composition, superb perch, and lovely warm tones throughout. I would only consider toning down the contrast here, but you certainly have a winner here!
Oh, and a belated welcome to BPN...and don't be shy to critique others' works too, all part of the fun community here!

Richard:
Quite striking with a strong graphic component from the perch. The limited color palette works well here. Good composition with these elements.
Agree with Daniel about softening the contrast a sliver.
This also might make an interesting black and white conversion.
A big welcome to BPN and look forward to more.
Cheers

Hi Richard, Very nice image here I really like the comp with the perch coming from the top right corner and flowing through the frame plus it has a lot of character and ends with your subject in a nice pose. I do have a couple of processing suggestions for you, first I agree with Daniel on the image having a touch to much contrast I would tone down the highlights a touch. The image also looks like it was globally sharpen which causes two problems here first especially with a 7D applying sharpening to the BG enhances the appearance of noise and second sharpening the perch adds to the contrast and gives it a slightly crunchy look if you had selectively sharpen the subject only it would have avoided both of these issues.

A big warm welcome to you, Richard. This is one heck of a perch, and I love how it is such an integral part of the image. You have a lovely BG and your composition works well.

Thanks so much Daniel, Randy, Don and Marina. It is awesome to get feedback like this, as I am pretty new to photography (and especially processing) and information like this is incredibly helpful. Thanks for taking the time! I will look to reduce the contrast and then investigate selective sharpening. Have an awesome day!
