Hi Girish, nice 'tusker' any idea how old this one is?

Based on the techs I think you did very well, 1.125sec HH impressive, likewise the PP work, well done. I wonder if moving either side from this POV may have helped, as I just wish the LH tree trunk was not in view, likewise the RH BKG one so you just had vegetation, as it would help isolate the subject better IMHO. Not sure if going left you may have had a better HA too, but still capturing the nice curvature of the trunk. Like the behavioural aspect grasping the grass. Depending on your ethics/POV, but a little pruning, toning down or 'cloning' of the lighter tree in the BKG does help, but your call. Just a thought, but have you considered perhaps tweaking the grass in HSL and go more to a yellow hue of green, rather than the colder blue of the grass, just warms the image slightly, but if this was taken early in the morning then it could well be cooler, just a thought? Good call on toning the tree trunk down and I like the way you have a solid edge to the image on the RHS.

I love this image, Girish. Steve has covered all the technical aspects, I just wanted to say I really like the textures on the elephant's skin and trunk, as well as tusks. And you captured so well the expression on the subject's face! Nice and sharp where it counts and the tree trunks frame the elephant beautifully-this image makes a lovely print, in my opinion!

    Kind regards,

Girish, we don't see Asian's elephant pics here often, so it is great to see your post and compare the inferences with the African ones. Nice and sharp where it counts. I'm with Steve that the image looks a little bit on the cool side. As for the OOF bright tree trunk, you could also tone it down without cloning. I think the image needs a little bit of clockwise rotation as the trees and the elephant appear to be leaning left. Overall a very nice image. Loi

Hi Girish - nice to see an Asian elephant and the portrait comp works great. The texture and twist of the trunk are a big bonus here as well as the big tusks. My first thought also was that the image seems a bit cool with blues coming through in the grasses. I would also apply a little bit of NR to the bg.

I always marvel when seeing an Asiatic Elephant with proper tusks. Nice one Girish!
Good advice above, I'd be tempted to make a slight adjustment to colour balance away from green/magenta if it were mine?
