...and the living is easy. The deer are in good coat and food is plentiful this year. Photographed in early evening.

    Canon 1D Mark IV, Canon 400 f4 DO IS, 1/400, f6.3, ISO 800.

    C & C most appreciated.

Hi Nancy - nice detail and color with the wildflowers and open mouth really adding to the image. DOF works well for me too. Perhaps back off on the sharpening just slightly. Overall, well done.

    Hi Nancy ,
agree with Rachel about detail and color, like to add the good comp but would go if you have it with more room below the legs for the virtual feet.
The angle of the deer facing downwards looks a bit odd, but i think the deer was moving down a slope, right ?!
The combination of the colors ,yellow and red makes this working nicely.

But i would reduced the blues really a lot and slightly the reds in the fur.

Not sure about the blacks , would try to reduce them and see how it looks .

    Really nice one

    TFS Andreas

Thanks Rachel & Andreas. Yes, the doe is moving downslope. I also thought more space at the bottom would be good, but I do not have it. Rachel, you confirmed what I thought about the deer being a bit too sharp. Can take care of that. I really appreciate all the color suggestions as now I cannot see the issues until someone calls them to my attention.

Adjusted the colors as suggested. Better? Too much? WDYT? Also reduced sharpness on the deer.

A nice moment, Nancy. Your OP had a lot of "snootiness" and a bit too much contrast, which your RP has sorted out nicely.
Colour is also better now, though I still see a bit of magenta coming through in the darker parts of the antelope?

Thank you Morkel. I'll look at the magenta.
