Shot at Green Cay @ 4/29/2008.
I was not able to get a better DOF, notice that my speed was down to 1/80.
I clone a branch that was above the head of the bird.

    40D, 500mm f/4, 1.4TC, Flash, better beamer, tripod
    1/80", F7.1, ISO 500, 700mm, Flash -3

    Comments and recommendations welcome,

Great find, pose and details. Maybe a bit tight in the frame. Too bad about the branch in front of the bird.

    Raul,

Sharp at the right place - eye and beak with bug. BG is pleasing and perch works well. I agree with your cloning decision.

Wonderful capture with excllent detail, eye contact and composition. Minor nits have been mentioned. Thanks for sharing.

What a catch for both, a little more room all around would improve this one.

This is a very nice portrait of a beautiful bird. Your cloning is invisible to me- nice job. I like tight compositions when you are intending an intimate portrait, which I think you are here. My only picky point is the eye detail- I see two peculiar catchlights in the eye, particularly a small one that runs lower left to upper right.

Thanks for comments and recommendations. I went back to original and try again.
I start from the original, and try to duplicate my original work, but my memory is not the best...
I gave more room left and top, and reworked the eye.
The background had to be reworked, I am not very consistent with my cloning work.

Very nice Raul. I really like the repost. As everyone said, the detail is very sharp.
