I left the branch at bottom right in. I realize the head angle isn't perfect, and the right hand end of the branch is out of focus, but I thought it isn't a bad image of a common bird in a nice setting. Any other learning points appreciated (e.g. ? tighter crop on the right).

Nice work Richard. I love the budding perch and even light that isn't too harsh. I think the main suggestion that I have is to try and work to get these birds down lower. The photography angle here is very, very steep such that were can even see the very bottom of the bird. It's tough to take a condition and create a strong image, but you've done a pretty good job! Next time maybe he'll be closer to eye level and you'll nail an even better image.
Agree with Judd on the lower angle Does make a difference. Would like some more room up top Seems tight. The branches particularly at the bottom of the main branch are catching my attention. The dark mass is an eye magnet. All you can do is wait for a cleaner perch. The one at the bottom personally I would clone.
