Hi folks, thought i post an image from my High Tech Cam
Fiddled around a lot with processing because exposure was difficult due to light situation, tried to achieve an image with detail everywhere.
So nothing exciting compared to a wild bear , more a skill orientated shot, to look for IQ in High ISO shots.

    Canon 1Dx
    EF 500 IS L
    Tripod

    F 5,7 ; 1/ 500sec / ISO 6400

    Processed in PS CC

Tell me your thoughts , all critiques are more than welcome, prefer the good ones , LOL .

    Cheers Andreas

Hi Andreas, I like the queries/quirky head angle on this, ands a nice perspective to the image. Happy with the crop and there is just enough BKG that nicely frames the body. Not sure if it requires a bit more 'black' to add some contrast to it in key areas like the right eye, but I think the shadow area of the fur has been lightened a tad too much, or is it my perception? Good IQ for the higher ISO and the control of the highlights too .

Nice pose here Andreas. Detail looks good (at this resolution), overall it still just feels a tad dark? Have you tried carefully upping exposure in RAW module?
Do I see some blue cast in the blacks of the face?

The image doesn't really work for me, but I think you managed to control noise and maintain sharpness very well. I think that you could get a bit more contrast and impact on the fur at the top of the head.
Would be happy to get images of this quality at ISO 6400.
    Cheers.

Hello and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Tried to go for your suggestions and followed that path, sometimes so different looking in PS and then uploaded to here.

More contrast in the lighter fur, more depth in the blacks and darkened the darker fur, reduced the creeping blues on the nose.

Morkel i did not upped the exposure , because it was already overexposed by 0,7 bias. The enclosure of these guys is completely surrounded by trees high up to 30 meters , so you have daylight or sun falling straight down, never coming from the side , so all the time the darker parts of the fur will never be really illuminated. And there is only one spot to shoot from without having something concrete in the BKG, so somehow limited in options.

    WDYT ?

    Cheers Andreas
