Nice detail in the wings, Allen, and nice lack of it in the BG. I keep trying to make out more detail in the "face." Can't be a DOF issue as both antennae are sharp, so maybe it's just the way this species is?

Very nice shot indeed, it looks very much like our Brimstone. Good DOF and focus perhaps a little more sharpening on the eye and hairs.

Hi Allen. Nice job with the yellows on the wings (though some of the brighter reds look blown on my monitor) - as you probably know, these two colors blow out very easily. Nice light and background and good sharpness on the wings. I agree that the head "appears" to be a bit soft - might be an easy fix with a little selective sharpening. I might wish that the butterfly's head wasn't stuck into the flower quite as much - but it may need to do that in order to reach the nectar in such a long tubular flower. Overall, this is well done!

Another butterly feeding on a native flower--makes me happy. Lovely image of this butterfly. I like how the pale yellow-green of the butterfly stands out against the darker green of the smooth bg.
