    I was heading back to the car after an unproductive morning in the woods last May, when this fellow popped up next to me. This is almost FF. There are a few things I could have wished for here (I'm sure you can guess what they are). But this is a species I rarely see and have never captured, so I'll take it until a better one comes along. C&C always appreciated.

    D7000, 700mm, ISO 2000, 1/400s @ f/6.3 manual. Tripod.

    Magnificent image,Bill Sir. Agree, would like to see full feet on perch, I liked it as it is.
    Very nice pose, colors, details and beautiful green BG. Caterpillar is plus point.

    Love the caterpillar but oh so wish I could see the feet!
    A solid image of a difficult bird to image and I can see why you want to keep this!

    lovely low angle. excellent BG & perch. always good to get a bird with prey.
    might just sharpen the bird a bit.

    Oh Bill if only we could see the feet. Great job on getting another rare one for you and another capture with the worm.
