Another beautiful bird from Flamingo Gardens taken a couple of weeks ago. I believe this is a crested caracara from Mexico.

Very nice composition and capture Oscar. I like it...:) In order to make it even better, you might want to lighten the blacks on the head and do a little sharpening around the eye, just a wee bit, not that much.. Hey buddy you did real well...CONGRATS...:D:D:D:cool:

i think gus nailed it!! i might crop a bit from the left too, but that's it. nice job!! some flash fill would have helped expose the dark area and put some light in the eye too. way to go, oscar!!

You are right that this bird does live in Mexico, but it also lives right here in Florida too!! Check out some of the roads in central Florida and you just might see one walking/flying around. I agree with many of the suggestions already posted. The blacks are quite dark and could use a little more detail. A slight head turn toward you would also help to strengthen the bird to viewer connection (eye contact). Nice job!

Oscar we have a Caracaras family at Viera Wetlands Monday on the way back we found one of them raiding a turtle nest. Had a bunch of eggs is no time !!!
