    Default Rufous Hummingbird

Out of the four hummingbirds that I was able to photograph this past weekend, this was probably my favorite. They weren't as abundant as the Broad-tailed, but they were definitely around the feeders.

Again, a big thanks to Doug for the invite (and the multi-flash set-up).

... now if only he had turned his head just a bit more to his right ...

Lovely species and the gorget is nicely lit up again on this one. The flight pose is very nice. Sharpness and details are excellent. The background is a bit on the uninteresting too uniform side here. Even though the variations were subtle on the previous image, I enjoyed the background on that one more. Did you try any natural backgrounds?

sweet pose, details, colors and I like the fanned tail. I agree if you use a more colorful backdrop it will make it more interesting...

Glad you had a good time Miguel; definitely enjoyed having you come up for the shoot, and lunch wasn't half bad either. I'm glad you got photos of all 4 species; I never got a Black-chinned hummer. I really like the fanned tail feathers and iridescent gorget. Good suggestions above. These weren't my backgrounds and I agree that they need a little less uniformity.

Details (especially on the fanned tail) are superb. Agree that a less sterile setting would add interest.

Lovely image just a shame about the head angle. Have just bought a flash and would love to get some shots like this.

Again with the awesome details on the spread tail! Good pose, colours, exposure, processing. BG mentioned and I agree, but better this than a distractingly cluttered one...

Amazing detail, no distracting BG. How did you freeze flight with 1/200, Miguel?
    Regards

    Andre.
