Spiny-cheeked Honeyeater
This is a reasonably common honeyeater in Australia south of the tropic of Capricorn, and most prolific in drier woodlands.
Thanks for looking, Greg.

Hi Greg, lots of colour and detail to look at on this fellow, especially the way he has posed. Well placed in the frame looking out into space, and I do like the smooth BG.

Oh wow, never seen anything like that Greg!
Smooth, but not monotone background is a big plus. I don't think you could have placed him in a better location on the perch.

What a lovely colorful species! Great details, perch, BG & light.
I agree with every compliment offered thus far. Gorgeous image of a pretty spectular looking bird, never mind how common or uncommon it is. I've no suggestions for improvement. The image is perfect imo.
