Wonderful Alan. Great exposure on both the blacks and whites. Beautiful head angle on both. The snuggled up juvi adds an extra element :)

Is the double catchlight due to the reflection of the sun from the water or is that from fill flash?

That would be the reflection of the sun in the water.

Awesome image in all regards, except feels tight on the top for sure, and a little more room on the left would not hurt. The nestled in chick is way too cute! Excellent choice on the f-stop at this working distance.

Highly appealing and quite intimate. Perhaps a tad tight in the frame, but the details look amazing! Personally I would remove the larger white speck on the adults head, but all else looks awesome.

A lovely image in all respects. Especially the little one's bill snuggled into the parent's neck feathers. For me, this is a case where tight-in-the-frame works just right.

Wonderful portrait. Two birds are sharp with full of details. Also I like the blue tones in the BG. TFS

Quality shot, the chick really adds to the pic. As said by others just a feel of too tight in the frame for myself. f 11 was the one to use for this- I must try to remember this more myself as I often get carried away/ engrossed in the bird and forget the depth of field.
