    Default Crescent Moon

I created a "hole" in the image using Pixel Bender hole. Then created a moon in that space. Used fractalius on the entire image. The base image is an in-camera blur.

Very intriguing. It could pass for a knothole in worn wood.

That's a very interesting effect. I never would have guessed it was a moon! I really like the fract effect on the vertical lines of the blur. You've come up with a good technique!

Thanks Diane & Judy. I liked experimenting with this image and came up with several versions. Will tell all later!

Hi, Nancy, this is a really nice organic looking image. Like Diane says, it reminds me of a knothole. Was it a blur of trees?

This is a fun theme, thanks all for commenting. Cheryl, you win! The base image is a blur of burned tree trunks with a bit of grass at the base.

Very creative Nancy. I was thinking trees, but not trunk!

Yes, I was guessing some tall grass that you manipulated. Light balances (more light on left than right) matches the moon reflection. Good.

Love it. It made me think of the style of painting of Edvard Munch who painted "the Scream".

Thank you Len, that is the exact feeling I had when I viewed these burned trees. Our forest fires have been devastating and these black trunks are a silent scream to the effects of raging fire.
