    The gatekeeper is currently the second most common butterfly near to where I live, though numbers are still comparatively low.

    Wonderful to have the wings so nicely spread to see all the fine details and colors. The simple piece of grass on the diagonal is the perfect perch.

    I agree with pretty much everything said above, so will not repeat it. I do think the comp would be stronger if you had moved the camera slightly left and up so the subject was closer to LR corner rather than so centered. VWD nevertheless.

    Hi Jon. A very nice specimen captured with good overall sharpness! I also like the lighting, the diagonal comp, and the background which gives a feel for the habitat without being distracting. Excellent work!
