This is a juvi. We had some moments when the sun was out for a few minutes and the birds decided to fly around.
Tough place to shoot as it is right along a busy road and I'm very conspicuous with my big lens, so people have fun
hunking right behind my back.
Thanks for looking.

Killer topside view and you nailed the focus imo. Awesome calling pose too! Would love to have an image of this species with this level of quality in my files. Congrats to you. People honking aye? I guess I'd take that over dogs off leashes... :)
Great flight image Karl...! Looks pretty sharp to me, especially given the distractions the road was providing...I have found it easier to live with the unwanted attention the big lens brings compared to the frustration the small lens delivers.. DON
Hi Karl, well placed in the frame, good banking pose showing the topside, and the open beak adds interest. The slight hint of clouds in the BG enhances the sky nicely.
Love the top view banking pose. Most of the ones I've been able to get were banking away. Head turn is great and love the direction of the light, with the catchlight as a nice plus.
Just make sure you don't miss a shot due to the honking!
Nice image Karl, great details and i love that open beak
the sky looks nice too
its good to see a juv bird i wanted to check the eye colour and this one confirms it, great looking bird
Thank you all.
I just heard from my wife, she keeps track of this kind of info, that about 60 plus Ospreys were counted along one of the two major migration roots this spring.
Eight of them for sure and maybe ten of them (haven't checked all the traditional nest sites yet) came and nested here in Guelph.
It's a nice I would say.
