I love to do motion blurs of trees. I used my usual technique here of combined two different blurs of basically the same scene, with the top layer in a blend mode (Hard Light in this case) and a lot of tweaking of contrast and shadow/highlight detail on both layers till I like the result. Then a couple of masked Curve layers for local dodging and burning and color balance.

C&C always appreciated and learned from.

Awesome blur! Wonderful flow of vertical lines in muted earth colors, and then that perfectly placed bright blue that drifts upwards and gives a contrasting, yet subtle, backdrop to the trees. I also like the whitish trees that first capture your eye and brings you into the image and upwards.

I like the combination of colors and tones and the angled elements that are mixed in with the vertical elements.

Diane, I like your technique of combining 2 blurs - that's not something I've tried but I love doing tree blurs so I certainly will. The bright blue and combinations of blues and browns make this very pleasing to look at.

Thanks, everyone! It's a fun technique.

I was never fully pleased with single-frame blurs -- they usually look a bit flat -- and one day the idea crawled into my head to try this old "slide sandwich" trick.

Love the soft colors and sense of motion. Really nice, Diane.
